Let the cost for the manufacturer is Rs.100
His selling price is Rs.118(cost to the wholesaler)
SP for the wholesaler is 118*120/100=141.60(cost to the retailer)
SP for the retailer is 141.60*125/100=177
Thus when the SP for the retailer is 177, CP of the manufacturer is 100
When the SP for the retailer is 30.90, CP of the manufacturer is (100/177)*30.9=Rs.17.457

so,
(177/100)*x=30.9
=> x=17.4576

step-1; for retailer
25% of 30.9(s p)
25/100*30.9 = Rs 7.72
so cp = Rs 30.9-7.72
=Rs 22.66
step 2; for wholeseller--
20 % of 22.66 (retailers cp)
=Rs 4.53
so cp of whole seller is 22.66-4.53= RS 18.13
step 3: for manufacturer
18 % of 18.13(cp of wholeseller)
=3.26
so cp of manufacturer =18.13 - 3.26
=Rs 14.87(Ans)
