If 50% of (a - b) is= 30% of (a + b), then what percentage of x is y?

Solution
Ans. 25%, it seems x & y have been wrongly written in place of a & b respectively

Solution:
50% of (a - b) = 30% of (a + b)
=> .5a-.5b = .3a+.3b
=> .2a = .8b
=> a = 4b
which means a is 400% of b
so b is 25% of a
