If on burning 6 gas ovens for 6 hrs per day, an amount of Rs.45 is spent for 8 days, then by spending Rs.60 how many gas ovens can be burnt 5 hrs per day for 10 days?

Solution

Total gas hours consumed in 8 days for Rs 45 = 6*6*8 = 288 hrs

cost per gas hr = 45/288 = Rs. 0.15625
Total gas hrs available with Rs 60 = 384
no of gas ovens that can be burnt 5 hrs per day for 10 days with 384 gas hrs = 384/50 = 7.68 ovens (approx 7)
