let sides be x and y
smaller side=x
longer side=y

now as y is folded in half, then side y becomes y/2
now one side is x other is y/2
ratio of sides is either x/(y/2) or (y/2)/x

comparing

initial ratio= x/y
final ratio= x/(y/2) or (y/2)/x

x/y=x/(y/2) is not possible

so, x/y=(y/2)/x is possible

as x=2
2/y=(y/2)/2
by solving we get y=2v2

the length of longer side at older l
then ratio=l:2
if l/2 is longer then shorter will be (l/2)/shorter=l/2 it is not possible because the shorter value must be 2 .
so the longer value is 2

a^2=8

sides of new rectangle is v2 and 2

l/2 =2/(l/2)
so l/2=4/l
and l^2=8
l=2^(3/2)
answer is option b
