let cp of 100 gm goods = Rs 100
but shopkeeper buys the same 100 gms = Rs 90
profit in buying for shopkeeper = Rs 10
and shopkeeper sells the same goods at 10 % gain = (10*100)/90 = Rs 100/9
hence total profit by shopkeeper = Rs ( 100/9 + 9)= Rs 181/9
total percentage gain is = ((181/9)/90)*100= 22.23%

Let the shopkeeper buy a good of 100 gms for Rs x and
He sells the same good for Rs x but it is of 90 gms

CP of 1 gm = x / 100
SP of 1 gm = x / 90

gain % = [ (x/90) - (x/100) ] * 100 / (x/100)
=> gain % = 11.11%
