A Company provides medical insurance that pays 50.0% of the cost, with a $180.00 deductible. This means that the employees pays the first $180.00, after which the insurance company pays 50.0%. How much will an employee pay if his total medical bill is $1400.00?

First the employee pays $180.
Remaining bill = 1400 - 180 = $ 1220

Insurance company pays 50%
= 50/100*1220
= $ 610

Remaining $610 is also paid by the employee

Total amount paid by employee = 180+610
=$790
