well they have given tht the cylinder dia is 10m.henche covert the all the dimensions given into meters from inches u will get
8 inch-0.2032
11 inch -0.2794
2 inch-0.0508

it means the thickness is the diameter of the cylinder tht would lead us to assume tht the cylinders height is the length hence the answer would be 8 inches or a.2032 m

Given dimensions of rectangle in inches and required cylinder in meters.
With the given dimensions of rectangle ,Volume(in m^3)=8*11*2*(0.0254)^3=0.00288 m^3=cylinder's volume.
If cylinder's height=h, radius=10/2=5 m.,then Pi*r^2*h=(22/7)*(25)*h=0.00288 , which gives very less value of height h.
So given diameter of cylinder in meter is confusing.

The volumes should be equal as the rectangle is shaped into a cylindrical rod.
The volume of the rectangle is 8*11*2=176.
The volume of the cylindrical rod is pi*r^2*h --> 22/7*5^2*h=176*0.0254 (as 1 inch = 0.0254 meters)
solving it we get h= 0.056896 m= 2.24 inches
