consider highest and lowest score be H and L
total score in 4o innings =40*52
total score in 38 innings =38*40
remaning are lowest and highest scores that is 40*52-38*40=H+L=560---->1
given that H-L=172 -------->2
by sloving 1 and 2 we get
H=366

Theoretically RAVI is correct.But As per data provided in this question is wrong logically.Becoz if Highest is 366 and lowest is 194 then average should flip in 194 to 366.

Highest score be x
Lowest score= x-172
52*40-(x+(x-172))=38*40
X=366

Two innings run is 40*52-38*40 =560.
Now average of remaining inning is 40.

Now ,If you divide 560 in two equal part is 280.And then the lowest score is 108.
So,question is wrong.

his total run in 40 innings = 40*52=2080
and if we exclude 2 inninds his total runs become=38*40=1520
if we suntract these two we will get the runs of the two excluded innings=2080-1520=560
which is the sum of the lowest and highest innings H+L=560and it is given H-L=172
by solving these two eq. we have highest score is 366

40*52=2080
38*40=1520
let be the lowest score- 'x'
and highest score is- 'x+1'

and 2080-1520=560
two innnings
x+x+172=560
2x=488
x=244
finally highest score is 244+172=416

Total runs 40 innings is 40*52=2080
Total runs in 38 innings is 38*40=1520
Differences between highest and lowest score is H-L=172
Therefore H+L=560
Solving above equation we get L=194 and H=366
