Let present ages of Karthick and Vasanth be K and V years respectively, then
K / V=4 / 3 or 3K - 4V = 0 ---(i) and
Ratio of ages after 4 years = (K+4) / (V+4) = 9 / 7 => 7K - 9V = 8 ---(ii)
Solving (i) & (ii), we get K=32, V=24
Let they got admission before x years, the ratio of their ages before x years=(32-x)/(24-x)=5/3
=> 96 - 3x = 120 - 5x
=> 2x = 24 or x=12

When the karthick age is 12,vasantha age is 12 .so there ratio is 4:3
