let present cost = 100 Rs
after 1 year , cost = 110 Rs
after 2 years , cost = 110 + 10% = 121 Rs

=> cost increased by (121 - 100) = 21 %

cost increased by 10% per year
new cost after one year=x*(110/100)=11x/10
new cost=11x/10
new cost after one year=(11x/10)*(110/100)=121x/100
new cost after two year=121x/100
percent increase=x to 121x/100
percentage increase=((new cost-original cost)/original cost)*100
(((121x/100)-x)/x)*100
((21x/100)/x)*100
(21/100)*100
21
so answer is 21%

1st yr=100+10% 0f 100=110
2nd yr=110+10% 0f 110=110+11=121
so total % increase in 2 yrs= 121-100=21 %
