36 + 54 + 72 = 162

At the beginning , number of students = 2x,3x,4x
After increasing,(2x+12),(3x+12),(4x+12)

2x + 12 = 8y -------(1)
3x + 12 = 11y ------(2)
4x + 12 = 14y

from (1) and (2),
=> x = 18

=> number of students in each class = 36,54,72
Total = 36 + 54 + 72 = 162

let the number of students are 2x,3x & 4x
(2x+12)/(3x+12)=8/11
22x+132=24x+96
2x=36
x=18
hence the number of students will be,
2x=2*18=36
3x=3*18=54
4x=4*18=72
