a+b=16
given that both are having same efficiency therefore
a=b;
then 2a=16(2men can complete in 16 days)
then one can complete in 16*2=32 days

let the person completed work solely be x. as all having same efficiency work completed by each them will be also x. now, work done in day by each person be 1/x. then 1/x+1/x=1/16
=>2/x=1/16
=>x=32. (as both of them is given..that is only two of his three friends completed the work in 16 days)
