at 4.20 hr hand is slightly greater than 4'o clock so ans is 10 deg

mnt hand moves 120deg in 20 mnts
and hr hand at exact 4 is 120 bt in 4+1/3 hr it is 10 greater than mnt

It is 4 degree.
Because hour hand moves 30 degree in 1hour.
4:20 = 4 +20/60 = 4+1/3 = 13/3.
So it is 1/3 hours passed so it rotates 10 degree.
Total angle of hours hand is 30*4+10 = 130 degree.

Minute hand moves 6 degree in 1 minute = 20*6 = 120 degree.
So 130-120 = 10 degree.

The total angle made by the minute hand during an hour(60 mins) is 360degrees.
For 40 mins= (40/60)*360=240degrees

The angle between the hour hand the minute hand will therefore, be somewhere between 240 – 90 = 150degrees.

as the hour hand is between 3 and 4.
The angle made by the hour hand when it moves from say 3 to 4 will be 30o. That is the hour hand makes 30o during the course of an hour.

The hour hand will therefore, move = 20.

Therefore, the net angle between the hour hand and the minute hand will be 150 – 20 = 130degrees.

FOR THE HOUR HAND:
IN 12*60 MIN MOVEMENT OF THAT IS 360 DEGREE
FOR (4*60+20)260 MIN THAT IS OF 130 DEGREE

FOR MIN HAND:
IN 60 MIN MOVEMENT OF THAT IS 360 DEGREE
FOR 20 MIN THAT IS OF 120 DEGREE

SO ANSWER IS:130-120 DEGREE

minute hand----->angle------->*6
4.20 convert hours=4+20/60=13/3=13/3*30=130
minute hand=20*6=120
hour hand-minute hand=130-120=10
