a fill in one hour = 1/36
b fill in one hour = 1/46
both fill in one hour = 1/36+1/46
= 82/1656
time taken by both pipes = 1656/82
=20.195 hrs ans...

In a hour A can fill 1/36 part of the tank
Similarly B can fill 1/46 th part of the tank
then together they can fill is the addition of both what they fill in a hour
1/36+1/46=82/1656
and thus reversing the solution 1656/82=20 hours and 19 min ,they both can fill

x*y/x+y

36*46/36+46

Total unit=828
efficiency of A=23 unit & B=18 unit.
so, (A+B)=41 unit
time req. to fill tha tank= 828/41=20.2 hours.

A pipe can fill a tank in =36 hours.
A pipe can fill a tank in 1 hour =1/36
similarly
B pipe can fill a tank in =45 hours.
B pipe can fill a tank in 1 hour=1/45
Together A and B can fill a tank in one hour=1/36+1/45=81/36*45=1/20
which mean A and B togther fill the tank in 20 hours
