let "x" be the avg b4 one of them left
then total ll be 24x... After one of them left, total ll be 24x-18

total age of 23 students=24x-18 --> (1)

let d new comer age be "y"
Avg lowered by 1 month means --> x-1/12
total ll be 24(x-1/12) ==> 24x-2

total age of 23 students = 24x-2-y --->(2)

equate (1) and (2)

v ll get y=16

so the age of new comer is 16
