let be x years ago....
so, (22-x)/(25-x)=2/5........solve it.
x=20years...ans

22:25 are the ratios of their ages at present.
so to get 2:5 ratio in the past we have to reduce their ages
25 is the multiple of 5
so, check by decresing both by 5 and then check the ratios
1)dec 5 on two sides
17:20 not possible (5 years decresed)
2)dec another 5 on two sides
12:15 not possible (10 yr dec)
3) dec another 5
7:10 not the required one (15 yr dec)
4) dec another 5
2:5 right (20 yr dec)

110-50=-2x+5x
