sum of father and 8sons=186
father age is =50
8sons age are=136 come from(186-50)
interval between the son is=d
youngest son age is =3 years
sum of 8sons ages are (3,3+d,3+2d,3+3d,3+4d,3+5d,3+6d,3+7d)=136
24+28d=136
28d=118
d=4;
so interval between the son is 4 years.
eldest son age is a+7d=>3+7*4=31.
Answer: eldest son is 31 years old.
