Solution
this question is out of sense. But if we consider it as a question only then the answer by VICK is right.

This question can be changed in this manner -

There was a grandmother in a village who had two grandchild. Upon asking her younger grandchild's age she told that she is as older as many days old as her elder grandchild's age in weeks and as many days as her own age in years. The sum of the three is 130. then how old is the younger child?
answer:
grandmother age - 127 year.
elder grand child - 127 weeks ~ 2.5 year
younger child - 127 days ~ .5 year

A boy wants to make cuboids of dimension 5m, 6m and 7m from small cubes of .03 m3. Later he realized he can make same cuboids by making it hollow. Then it takes some cubes less. What is the number of the cubes to be removed?

Solution
volume of the small cube = 0.03 m^3
so side of this cube = cubic root of 0.03 m^3 = .312 m
so after removing the outermost layer the dimensions for the inner cuboid will be (5-2*0.312), (6-2*0.312), (7-2*0.312)
so total volume will be (4.376)*(5.376)*(6.376) = 150 m^3
so no of cubes will be 150/0.03 = 5000
so we can remove 5000 inner cubes

A Roman was born the first day of the 35th year before Christ and died the first day of the 35th year after Christ. How many years did he live?
(a) 70 (b) 69 (c) 71 (d) 72

Solution
A Roman was born the first day of the 35th year before Christ means before the start of year 0, 35 years has been past and died the first day of the 35th year after Christ means 35th year is about to start at his death so only 34 years has been completed so total years = 69

(#M40001707) TCS QUESTION 2010 question Keep an EYE Keep an eye puzzle Keep an eye puzzle

On planet korba, a solar blast has melted the ice caps on its equator. 9 years after the ice melts, tiny planetoids called echina start growing on the rocks. Echina grows in the form of circle, and the relationship between the diameter of this circle and the age of echina is given by the formula d = 4*(t-9) for t>9, where d represents the diameter in mm and t the number of years since the solar blast. Jagan recorded the radius of some echina at a particular spot as 7mm. How many years back did the solar blast occur?
a) 17 b) 21.25 c) 12.25 d) 14.05

Solution
some fonts in the question are meaningless, so it is difficult to understand the meaning clearly. If we consider the meaning as d = 4*(t-9) then according to the given condition r = 7 mm so diameter = 14 mm, on putting d = 14, we get
14 = 4*(t-9) or 3.5 = t-9 or t = 12.5

In a flight of 600 km, an aircraft was slowed down due to bad weather. Its average speed for the trip was reduced by 200 km/hr and the time of flight increased by 30 minutes. The duration of the flight is:
(a) 1 hour (b) 2 hours (c) 3 hours (d) 4 hours

Solution
suppose avg speed of aircraft is v km/hr,and it takes t hr to trip 600 km.
then t=600/v.......(1)
now avg speed slowed down by 200 km/hr and it takes 30 more minutes that means now it takes t+30/60=t+1/2 hr and speed is v-200
now time=distance/speed=>t+1/2=600/(v-200)
2t+1=1200/(v-200)
(2t+1)(v-200)=1200
(2t+1)((600/t)-200))=1200 from (1)
on solving it t= -3/2 or 1
time cant be -ve,hence answer is 1 hr.

A bus started from bus stand at 8.00a m and after 30 min staying at destination, it returned back to the bus stand. The destination is 27 miles from the bus stand. The speed of the bus 50 percent fast speed. At what time it returns to the bus stand.
(a) 11a.m (b) 12a.m (c) 10a.m (d) 10.30p.m

Solution
The question is not complete, it should also be given in the question that average speed of the bus is equal to the starting speed of the bus
if we make this correction then answer by RAJAT SHARMA given below is correct

the answer is 11 a.m. ..........
let the initial speed of bus is V.....so it takes time in going T1 = 27/V and speed increases 50 %, while returning so time taken T2 = 27/(1.5V) = 18/V and it stops for 30 mins i.e., (.5 hr),
therefore total time taken T =(27/V)+(18/V)+(.5).
then average speed, V = total dist. traveled / total time
i.e.,V=2*27/T on solving we get V = 18 mph
hence finally time taken while going = 1.5hr + staying time (.5hr.) + time in returning with increased speed of 27 mph (1hr.)
hence total time taken=3 hrs. hence 11a.m.

but if we use the initial speed (18 mph) as a given term, then answer given below by YADEESHKUMAR is correct
ans is a)11am
bus covers 27 miles with 18mph in= 27/18 = 1 hr. 30 min.
it waits at stand = 30min.
after this, speed of return increases by 50 % so 50 % of 18 mph = 9 mph
total speed of returning = 18+9 = 27 mph
then in return it takes 27/27 = 1hr.
thus total time in journey = 1+1.30+0.30 = 3hr
so it will come at 8+3hr=11am.
