A starts 3mins after B for a place 4.5km distant B, on reaching his destination, immediately returns and after walking a km meets A.A can walk 1km in 18 mins.what is the speed of B?

Solution
let B travels t time
t=(4.5+1)/x.........(1)
for A
t-3=(4.5-1)/(1/18).......(2)
on solving
3=(5.5/x)-3.5*18
3x=5.5-3.5*18*x
66x = 5.5
x=5.5/66 = 55/660 km/min = 55*60/660 km/hour = 5 km/hrs
