No,I would say that each sport has its own importance in India.If its the cricket season then people watch cricket,if its the kabbadi season then they watch kabbadi. No sport is big and no sport is small.All are equally treated and are important.

To some extent it is true,but we can also not disagree with the fact that cricketers are performing well for our country,nd i think in india people usually supports that team sport where there are quality players. we can see their rankings ....india usually lies 1 to 3,that is why the no. of people supporting cricket is more in our country

Yes i think so. In India we have a lot of talent. In some sports we definitely require support to expand in our country. Only the craze in cricket will not help. People should be more enthusiastic regarding other sports as well. Cricket as well as other sports should grow and spread.

i would like to say in india from childhood we know how to play the cricket.cricket is like mothertongue of sport in india.because everybody know about cricket from childhood.90% people follow the cricket in india.we can say cricket is hampering the growth of other sport in india.if anybody have interest in other sport than definitely he or she will play other sport.from childhood we got the environment of cricket as sport.so definitely we can say cricket is hampering the any other sport in india.

Cricket itself has become brand in india..
Whatever respect cricket is getting from indian spectators these all are because of only single reason i.e their good performance all over the world..
There was ab era when hockey instead of cricket was more popular in India but due to the gradual fall in the standard of game and the downfall of the ranking among all countries its popularity decreased ...

yes cricket hampering the growth of other sports speifically in india because alot people showing towards to cricket and lot of young star showing intersettowards playing cricket it make other sports hampering in india India cricket councillng conducting many meets and events on cricket like world cup,mini world cup asia cup and etc....nowadays we see i p l make way into the cricket. it attracting towards cricket and due more less introducing of other sports in to world. the only way we know about other sports is olmpics game ...due this other sports came in to existance in view of peoples...

yes i think cricket is hampering the growth of others sports people has very less interest in other sports,all time is cricket is favourite for every citizen of the country, stake holder also play the huge impact on the growth of any sport,especially in asian continent the focus of the stake holder is towards cricket which influencing bad impact on the other sports.

Cricket is the most popular sports in nowdays . and mostly person made a career in crcket . so its a popular game and whenevr we talk about cricket think once for ipl because of that cricket is more popular in india. But one thing we should always remember that our national sport is hockey nor cricket so i think we have to promote these soprts more so i got fame in over world . but i like more cricket thats why i have to more talk about cricket . because when i was 5 yrs old always see in my family membr always talk about cricket a have to habbit of those ponits that cricket is that cricket is this and many more so got accomplised about vmcricket. Well, i think the media too needs to share some amount of the blame as the way cricket is sold as brand none of the games do.And the authorities too as when the india team won the world cup crores of rupees are bestowed on them why wont spend that money and build facilities to support other games.

yes, its absolutely correct.
people in india often think a lot about cricket
but , what about our national game?
we have been facing this mode of discrimination since decades.
hockey has almost lost its importance
our government hesitate a lot to announce national award for our players like dhyan chand.
even it dont pays their wages in aproper manner
cricket is inhibiting the growth of other sports by other activities like ipl etc.
irrespective of the sport, talented people must be encouraged.

Cricket is one of the only sports in India which is even been recognized in outside world because of the support that we have bestowed upon it
It just not the fault of Cricket if other sports have not attained those levels
It have acheived everything on its own

hi everyone.. cricket s not hampering other sports y because cricket in india got famous only in 1982 the day wen we won a world cup for our country. only from tat day everyone interested in cricket or else its also like other games.. up to date only cricket s winning world cups to india hence it seems to be like hampering but actually not.

Hii,sorry to interrupt but India won in 1983 n that was not the time when it got famous..yeh its true that at that time also indian youth was more excited about cricket than other games.... Also cricket die hard fan following started after launch of IPL editions with short format of game n lots of money than any other games....but its not the cause of hampering of other games that is also true.....other games are lagging behind due to lack of financial as well as motivational support to Indian youth with proper training sessions.

in india sport means cricket few people are interested to watch other games rather than cricket so the youth are focussing in cricket due to crase & other games is not getting any value
even people r not interested in watching other games . conclusion is that there is lot of names & fames in cricket so the youth r attracted towards it & this game is hampering other games

It is not cricket,it is the media who is hampering growth of other sports in india.
It telcasts ,reviews,make news only of cricket,but not of other sports.Peoples are intersted in watching other sports also if you they get opportunity. So better start telcasting other sports will increase the interst of inidans in them.I wil give you a very good examples of Hockey India League 2013 held in ranchi.Standum capacity 5k ,people reached there to watch 50k,then around 8-9k people manages to enter the hockey astroturf stadium,remaining were send to football stadium and they watched in the tv on that stadium,and the enthusiasm was the same.

I think corruption is one issue to make a cricket famous than other sport. As we know in IPL means money making business and corruption is also there. Fan following of player like sachin also make cricket famous.

absolutely not. it is always a similar kind of sports but unfortunately fans of this sport is huge among the world. this not at all means cricket hampering other sports in india. ofcourse our national sports is HOCKEY.but people in india not only encouraging our indian cricket team to won cups, they also want to india to become first on all sports. since we have Star sports it is huge sports channel which telecasts more live matches not only cricket but also PRO KABADI, BASKET BALL, FOOT Ball. other sports in india try to become better not abusing like cricket hampering other sports in india.
