Solution

For getting minima in one subject, he should get maxima in other subjects.
Let us suppose he got 100 in all other subjects
then
(n-1)100 + 64 = n*88
100n - 36 = 88n

if two subjects marks=100
then avg becomes 264/3=88
so total subject= 3

If he gets 64 in 1 subject , he needs to get 24 more to get 88%.
So if he scores 100 in other two subjects(12+12) he gets 88% in 3 subjects.

let,the total no of subjects=n
and we also assume that in rest of the subject the student got full marks i.e. 100

according to the question,
64+(n-1)*100=88*n
by solving this we get, n=3
