It requires 4 boys and 6 girls to finish a task in 8 days while 3 boys and 7 girls to finish the same task in 10 days. In how many days will 10 girls finish the task?

Solution

Let 1 boy’s day of work =x and 1 girl’s day of work = y
Then 4x+6y= 1/8
3x+7y = 1/10
Solving these equations we get y = 1/400
One girl can finish the task in 400 days
So 10 girls can finish the task in 40 days

First Equation ==> 4B + 6G = 1/8
Second Equation ==> 3B + 7G = 1/10

Multiply eq 1 by 3 ==>12B + 18G = 3/8
Multiply eq 2 by 4 ==>12B + 28G = 4/10
by solving this we get

10G = 4/10 - 3/8 = 1/40
i.e 40 day
so option is 8

Let
one day work of 1 boy is x
one day work for 1 girl is y

than 4x+6y =1/8

and
3x+7y =1/10

after solving one day work for boy's and girls is
x=11/400 and y= 1/400

So one day work of 10 girl = (1/400 )*10 =1/40

SO to complete the work it will take 40 day's for 10 girls

solving b/g=11/1
total work=(4*11+6*1)*8=50*8=400
10girls finish the task=400/(10*1)=40

4boys+6girls can complete in 8days.
If it wants to be completed in 1 day 32boys+ 48girls required.
Similarly in the second 30boys+ 70girls required to complete the task in 1 day.
Hence the work of
32boys +48girls=the work of 30boys +70girls.
=> work of 2boys=22 girls.
4boys + 6girls completes it in 10days.
=> (44+6)girls completes it in 10days.
If there are 10girls only they can complete it in= (50/10)*8= 40.
Hence the right option is 8.

Let 1 man's 1 day's work = x and 1 women's 1 day's work = y
Then, 4x+6y=1/8 and 3x+7y=1/10
Solving the two equations, we get: x = 11/400, y = 1/400
Therefore, 1 women's 1 day's work = 1/400
10 women's 1 day's work will be = 10*1/400 = 1/40
hence, 10 women will complete the work in 40 days
