The present ages of A,B and C are in proportions 4:5:6. Eight years ago, the sum of their ages was 66. What is the sum of present age of A and C?

Solution

Eight years ago sum of Ages of A, B and C = 66
Eight years later i.e. sum of current ages of A, B and C = 66+(3*8) = 90
Present Age of A = 90*4/(4+5+6) = 4*6 = 24 years
Present Age of c = 90*6/(4+5+6) = 6*6 = 36 years
Sum = 24+36 = 60 years
