In a cricket match, Team A scored 240 runs without losing a wicket. The score consisted of byes,
wides and runs scored by two opening batsmen: Ram and Shyam. The runs scored by the two batsmen are 11 times wides. There are 7 more wides than byes. If the ratio of the runs scored by Ram and Shyam is 5:6, then the percentage of run scored by Ram out of total score of Team A is:

Answer: 39.6
Let Runs Scored by Ram+Shyam be x, byes be y and wides be z
As per question
x = 11z and z = 7+y

So Total runs = x+y+z = 11z+z-7+z = 240
13z-7 = 240
= > z= 19
Therefore x = 11*19 = 209
Runs scored by Ram = 209*5/11 = 95

Percent of total run scored by Ram = (95/240)*100 = 39.6%

Let X be wides. Byes are X-7.Runs are 11X
Total score 11x+x+x-7=240
13x =247
X = 19
Ram:Shyam = 5:6
Percentage of Ram = 5*11*19*100/11*240
9500/240=39.58%
=39.6 Which stands for 1.

Let the no. of byes be x.
so x+x+7+11x+77=240
13x+84=240
x=12
runs scored by both Ram & Shyam = 95+114=209
%age of runs scored by Ram of the total runs scored by team A= 95/240*100=39.5833 or 39.6 hence option 1 is the answer.

let wides be X and byes be Y..as per question X=Y+7..and runs scored by batsmen=11(Y+7)..so total runs scored by team=Y+Y+7+11(Y+7)=240..by solving we get Y=12..then wide's will be 19..partnership is 209..by solving runs scored by Ram..5/11*209=95....so total % of ram's runs out of 240 will be 95/240*100=39.58..39.6 approx

as per given data we can form an equation as
11wide+wide-7+wide=240
which gives wide =19
so bye is 19-7=12
now total score is 209
as the ratio is given we can calculate total run by ram as
5/11*209=95

so total run scored by ram is 95
so the percentage of run scored by ram out of total score of team A is 39.6%
