Solution

Speed (upstream) =3/1 km/hr
Speed (downstream)= 3/0.5= 6 km/hr

Speed in still water = 1/2 (6+3) = 4.5 km/hr

Time taken in stationary water to go 6 KM = 6/4.5 = 1.333333 hr = 1 Hour 20 minutes
