Two trains each 350 meter long, are running in same directions on parallel tracks. If their speeds are 46 km/hr and 60 km/hr respectively, the time taken by the slower train to pass the driver of the faster one is?

Solution

Relative speed= 60-46 = 14 km/hr = 14 * 5/18 = 35/9 m/sec

We are calculating the time taken by the slower train to pass the driver of the faster one.
Hence, distance = length of the slower train = 350 meter

Time = 350/35/9 = 90 seconds

Total distance/different of speed then find the time.
So that solve we get the value 90sec.

As the two trains are moving in the same direction therefore their relative velocity will be = (60-46) = 14 Km/hr = 35/9 m/sec
Now the time taken by the faster train to cross the driver of the slower train will be = 350*9/35 = 90 sec

afte converting it to m/s , divide 350 by speed of train
