The difference between simple interest and the compound interest on a certain amount of money for 3 years at 10.0% per annum is Rs. 527. The sum is:

Let the sum be Rs.x. then S.I.=(x*10*3 / 100) = 3x/10 = 0.3x
C.I = [x(1+10/100)^3 -x] = [x(1331/1000) -x] = 0.331x
CI-SI=527
=> 0.331x- 0.3x = 527
=> 0.031x = 527
=> x = 17000

P(1+10/100)^3-P-P*10*3/100=₹527
P(1.331) - P(0.03) =P( 0.031)=₹527
Principle P =₹527/0.031=₹17000
Hence the right option is 5👈

If x is the sum, then
Total amount after 3 years with S.I. @ 10% p.a. = 1.3x
Total amount after 3 years with C.I. @10% p.a. = 1.331x

As per given condition ,
1.331x-1.3x= 527
0.031x=527
x= 527*1000/31= Rs. 17000

CI=[x(1+10/100)^3-x]
CI=0.33100x
SI=[(x*1083)/100]
SI=0.30000x
Now According to question, CI-SI=527
So, 0.33100x-0.30000x=527
x=527/0.03100
x=17000

SI for 3 years is =(3P/10)........1 ; LET P IS ACTUAL SUM
and CI for 3 years is ={P(1+10/100)^3}-P......2
subtracting equation 2 from 1 we get
31P/1000=527
so, p=17000

X(1+10/100)^3 - X - X*10*3/100 = 527
Solving this equation we can get X = Rs. 17000

So [x(1+10/100)^3-x]-(x*10*3)/100= 527
By solving this
0.031x = 527
X= 17000
