SI for 5 years = 11982 - 9037 = RS 2945
SI for 1 year = 2945/5 = Rs 589

Required Sum = 9037 - 2356 = Rs 6681

let principal be x and rate be r. So we get the following 2 equations
x+(x*r*9)/100=11982......(i)
x+(x*r*4)/100=9037........(ii)
Subtracting eqn (ii) from (i) we get,
x*r/100= 589
Substituting this value in equation (ii) we get, x= 6681
