A is six years older than B who is six times as old as C. The total of the ages of A, B and C is 123. How old is C?

Solution

As per question,
A+B+C =123
A-B=6
and B/C = 6


B+6+ (B+B/6) =123
=> 2B+B/6 = 117
=> 13B = 6*117
=> B = 54

So C = B/6 = 54/6 = 9
