Jaadu went to buy a chocolate worth Rs. x. He gave Rs.20 rupee note to the shopkeeper to buy the chocolate then shopkeeper gave rest of the money in the denominations of 50 paise, 2 rupee, and 5 rupees. If the ratio of the number of coins is 5:2:1 respectively. Then what is the price of the chocolate?

Solution

Possible coins = (5, 2, 1) & (10, 4, 2)
If (4, 2, 1) = 0.50*5+ 2*2 + 1*5 =11.5

Chocolate cost =20-11.5 = 8.5 Rs

Case 2: (8, 4, 2) = 0.50*10+ 2*4 +2*5 = 23 which is more than 20 rupees so wrong
