Rahul has solved 245 questions in an examination. If he got only ‘0’ marks, then how many questions were wrong when one mark is given for each one correct answer and 2/3 mark is subtracted on each wrong answer.

Solution

Lets assume Rahul attempts 'x' questions correct and 'y' questions wrong, then
x + y = 245 ---(i) &
x - (2/3)y=0 ---(ii)

Putting value of x in equation (i), we get
(2/3) y + y = 245
=> (5/3)y =245
=> y = 147
and x = 98
