The sum of squares of three successive integers is 63077. Sum of these integers is?

Solution

(a-1)^2 + a^2 + (a+1)^2 = 63077
=> a^2 -2a + 1 + a^2 + a^2 + 2a + 1 = 63077
=> 3a^2 + 2 = 63077
=> a^2 = (20174-2)/3 = 21025
=> a = 145
So the 3 numbers are 144, 145 and 146 and their sum is 435
