A man has four sons between whom he has to distribute his property of 1 million in the ratio 3:2:2:3.
If first son gives his 40 % share to second one, then what % property is of third son relative to second one.

Solution

40 % of 3 = 1.2
After donation by first, share of second = 2 + 1.2 = 3.2
Hence ratio = 2 * 100 / 3.2 = 62.5

A man has four sons between whom he has to distribute his property of 1 million or 10 lakhs in the ratio 3:2:2:3.

Means they are getting 3lakhs,2 lakhs, 2 laks and 3 lakhs respectively.
First son will give 40% of his part ( 3 lakhs) i.e. 1.2 lakhs to 2nd son.

So now 2nd son will have 3.2 laks whereas 3rd son is having 2 lakhs.

so % property is of third son relative to second one = 100*20/32= 62.5%

1st son= Rs. 3,00,000
2nd son= Rs. 2,00,000
3rd son= Rs. 2,00,000
4th son= Rs. 3,00,000
Now, first son gives his 40 % share or Rs. 3,00,000*40% or Rs. 1,20,000 to second one.
So, the amount of the second son becomes Rs. 2,00,000 + 1,20,000= Rs. 3,20,000.
Therefore, % property is of third son relative to second one is= (2,00,000/3,20,000)*100%= 62.5%..... Option 7)
