Sum of age of 6 children born at interval of 6 years is 240. What is the age of youngest child?

Solution

Let the ages of children be x, (x+6*1),
(x+6*2).... (x+6*5) years.

=> x + (x+6*1) + (x+6*2)+ (x+6*3) + (x+6*4) + (x+6*5) = 240
=> 6x + 90 = 250
=> x = 25
