A shopkeeper gives 60 % discount in some objects and 40 % discount in other objects. If printed costs of
two selected objects are 100 rupee and 900 rupees, than which one of the following is the possible total
cost of objects paid by the customer.

Solution

If 40 % discount in 100 rupee and 60 % in 900 rupee, then
Total discount = 40 + 540 = 580, hence cost paid = 420
If 40 % discount in 900 rupee and 60 % in 100 rupee, then
Total discount = 360 + 60 = 420, hence cost paid = 580
If 40 % discount in 100 rupee and 40 % in 900 rupee, then
Total discount = 40 + 360 = 400, hence cost paid = 600
If 60 % discount in 100 rupee and 60 % in 900 rupee, then
Total discount = 60 + 540 = 600, hence cost paid = 400
