=(24*42)/(24+42)

Let 100 be the salary given for Suraj in 24 days
=> Salary per day = 100/24
Similarly Devesh receives 100 for 42 days
= 100/42
Salary per day for both = (100/24+100/42)
Same amount is adequate for = 100/(100/24+100/42)
= 15.27 days

Given Devesh 42 days salary = 2400.His 1day salary=400/7
n (100 + 400/7) = 2400. Solving n 15.27
