A slab measures (40cm x 20 cm x 25/2 cm). How many slabs will be required for a wall 35 m long, 2 m high and 0.5 m thick?

Solution

Volume of wall = 35 x 2 x 0.5 = 35 cubic meters
Volume of 1 slab = (40/ 100) x(20/100) x (25/200)
= 4/400 Cubic meters
Required numbers of slabs = 35 / (4/400) =35 x 400 / 4
= 3500
