In a one kilometer race Anil, Satish and Sonu are the three participants. Anil can give Satish a start 50 m and Sonu a start of 69 m. How many meters start cab Satish give to Sonu?

Solution

When Anil covers 1000 m, Satish covers
(1000-50)= 950m.
and Sonu covers
(1000-69) = 931m.
When Satish covers 950 m, Sonu covers 931 m.
When Satish will cover 1000 m, Sonu will cover = (931/950) x 1000 = 980 m
Therefor Satish can give Sonu a start of 20m.
