Solution

When two dice are thrown total number of results can be obtained are 36.
Hence n(S) = 36
Event of getting total of 7 or 9 are { (6, 1), (5, 2), (4, 3), (6, 3), (5, 4)}

So, PE = n(E)/n(S) = 5/36
