Out of twenty one persons, expenditure of eighteen persons is Rs. 120 each for their lunch and remaining three spent Rs. 30 more than the average expenditure of all the twenty one. The total money spent by all of them was:

Solution

Let the average expenditure by 21 persons =Rs. x
Then, x = [18*120 + 3(x+30)] / 21
21x = 2160 + 3x + 90
18x = 2250
