Ram is double efficient than Shyam. Shyam is thrice efficient than Arjun. Arjun is half efficient than Mohan.
They start a work together. In how many days the work will be completed, if only Shyam completes it in 20 days.

Solution

One day work of Shyam = 1/20 part
Similarly that of Ram, Arjun and Mohan are 2/20, 1/60, 1/30 parts respectively according to the given conditions.
Total one day work = (2/20) + (1/20) + (1/60) + (1/30) = 12/60
No. of days required = 60/12 = 5

Ram ( 2s)is double efficient than Shyam. Shyam is thrice efficient than Arjun (S/3) . Arjun is half efficient than Mohan (2S/3). Total efficiency = s+2s+s/3+2s/3 =4s. Shyam (s) completes it in 20 days, then all with 4s efficiency will complete work in 20/4 = 5 days.

The efficiencies of Ram, shyam, Arjun and Mohan are in ratio of 6:3:1:2. Shyam completes work with 3 units of efficiency in 20 days. Total group will complete work with 12 units of efficiency in 20*3/12 =5 days

If only Shyam completes it in 20 days, then
only Ram completes it in 10 days,
only Arjun completes it in 60 days,
only Mohan completes it in 30 days,
Therefore, they together can complete the work in 1 / (1/20 + 1/10 + 1/60 + 1/30)
=5 days.

According condition Ram can do the work in 10 days,Shyam in 20 days, Arjun in 60 days, and Mohan in 30 days.Working together they can do the work in 1 day (1/20+1/10+1/60+1/30)=1/5th of the work.So they can do the work together in 5 days.
