Let us consider that the length of the platform is L
Then according to the given condition v = 150/3 = 50

here x=150 and train length is y, then
speed of train = 150/3 = (150+y)/10,

SPEED OF TRAIN =(150M/3S)=50M/S
[LENGTH OF(TRAIN+PLTFRM)]/10S = 50M/S
150M+LP=500
SO,LP=500-150

and crosses 10*50=500 m in 10 sec
