There are 5 friends. Their ages are all odd integers. The age of the only youngest friend is 21 and that of the only eldest is 29. There is no information about the ages of other friends. If we consider different possible sets of values for the ages of other friends then what would be the maximum difference between the sums of ages of 5 friends in any 2 possibilities.

According to the given condition, for making a large difference between the sum of ages of 5 friends, possibilities are
21, 23, 23, 23, 29 and 21, 27, 27, 27, 29

maximum difference between the sums of ages of 5 friends in any 2 possibilities when ages are 21,23,23,23,29 and 21,27,27,27,29.

Then diff between sum of ages will be 3*(27-23) =12 years.

The ages of each of the other 3 friends can be either 23,or 25, or 27. Minimum sum of their ages will be 23*3= 69 and maximum sum will be 27*3= 81.
So, the maximum difference between the sums of ages of 5 friends in any 2 possibilities is= 81-69 or 12 years..... Option 10)

the age of the only youngest friend is 21
the age of the only eldest friend is 29

so there is only two possibilties which suits given criteria
they are 1.21,23,23,23,29
2.21,27,27,27,29

Required answer is the difference between sum of second possibility and sum of first possibility i.e 131-119=12
