Solution

According to the given condition
x + (1/x) = (x-1)(x+2)/x
or (x^2 + 1)/x = (x^2 + x -2)/x
or 1 = x-2
or x = 3

(x^2+1)/x=((x+2)(x-1)/x)
cancel x from both side
(x^2)+1=x^2-x+2x-2
cancel x^2 from both side
1=x-2
