A jar of 12 litre is half (6 ltr) filled by water and half filled by milk( 6 ltr). One third of the total content is removed from the jar and is filled by water.
considering removal of milk , 2 litre milk is removed . 4 litre milk is left .
After that half of the liquid from the jar is removed and same amount of water is added in it.
2 ltr. milk is removed and 2 litr milk is left with balance 10 litre water in 12 litre jar.
so ratio of water to milk is 10:2 or 5:1.

totally 12 lr. (let w=water and m=milk)
Initially: 6w + 6m.
after removing quarter: 8(w+m) (it means 4w and 4m).
then add 1/4 of water: 8w + 4m
now remove the half(6lr): 4w + 2m (decreased half from both water and milk)
again fill it by water: 10w + 2m.
So, the ratio of water and milk would be, 5:1.

After I process(4:4 & adding 4l water) it becomes, 8:2;
After II process(4:2 & adding 6l water) it becomes,

first of all the ratio was 1:1 means 6 ltr water & 6 ltr milk
then 4 ltr liquid exchange with water hence water and milk became 4 ltr and 8 ltr ratio 1:2
now again 6 ltr of liquid exchange with water so now water became 10 ltr and milk 2 ltr hence ratio
is 5:1
