On arranging letters in order we get

now make attention on the trick
total possible words = 8*7*6*5*4*3*2*1/2*1 = 20160
so rank = 2520*7 + 360*5 + 120*1 + 24*0 + 6*1 + 2*2 + 1*1 + 1 = 19572
here 2520 is 20160/8 and 7 is the no. of letters before V
360 is 2520/7 and 5 is the no. of letters before O
now O comes twice in the word so
total words for the next step = 360*2
120 is 720/6 and 1 is the no. of letters before D
24 is 120/5 and 0 is the no. of letters before A
6 is 24/4 and 1 is the no. of letters before F
2 is 6/3 and 2 is the no. of letters before O
1 is 2/2 and 1 is the no. of letter before N
