A man invests 11 lacs in two business. In one business he finds a profit of 60 % whereas in second a loss of 50 %. How much his invest would be in the two business if it is given that he got no profit no loss.

according to the given condition
x*0.6 = (11-x)*0.5
or 0.6x = 5.5 - 0.5x

x*160 - (11-x)50 =0

let he invested x lakhs in 1st business and 11-x lakhs in 2nd.
therefore 60% profit is 160x/100 and 50% loss is 50(11-x)/100.
since there is no profit and no loss, so total amount will be equal to 11 lakhs.
=> 16x/10 + 5(11-x)/10 = 11
on solving we get, x = 5 lakhs

x*60/100=y*50/100
x=y*50/60
x=5/6*(1100000-x)
x=5500000/6-(5/6x)

IF 5 lack in 1st bussiness that means i have invested 6 in 2nd bussiness.

60% of 5 lack is 3 lack
and 50% of 6 lack is 3 lack

which makes loss and profit equal
