24 cm is the perimeter of rectangle.
2(l+b)=24
l+b=12
this can be satisfied by
11,1 =>11*1=11
10,2 =>10*2=20
9,3 =>9*3=27
8,4 =>8*4=32
7,5 =>7*5=35
6,6 =>6*6=36
largest is 36cm^2 and it is a square.
a rectangle can bea square but a square cannot be a rectangle.

since length of string is 24 cm..
hence dimension of largest rectangle can be taken as
6*6..[since rectangle has 4 sides hence dimension of each side is 24/4=6]
So area of largest rectangle = 36 cm^2

Area of a triangle with fixed perimeter is maximum when its all sides are equal or simply speaking rectangle is a square.

so rectangle/square having each side equal to 24/4=6 cm can be formed for largest rectangle.

length of string ie 2*(a+b) = 24
a+b = 12
for the given circumference, condition for largest area is that rectangular must be square.
hence a=b ==> 2a=12 ==> a=6
area is a*a= 6*6= 36

it shoud be a squre of side 6 cm.

2(L + B)= 24

BY THIS L+B=12

SO 6*6 GIVES THE MAX AREA THAT IS 36
