Maximum no. of intersecting points = 5*4/2 = 10
minimum no. of intersecting points = 1

5 lines can intersect at max 10 points ( in star arrangement) and min 1 point .

so diff = 10-1=9

For n non parallel lines,
max no of intersection points = n*(n-1)/2

Here n=5
max points of intersection = 5*4/2=10

min pts = 1
diff = 10-1=9

maximum number of intersecting points is given by n(n-1)/2; for 5 lines it is 5*4/2=10; minimum intersecting point is 1; all lines going through the same point. difference is 9;

for minimum intersection all lines intersect at single point,
so minimum point of intersection is 1.
for maximum number of intersection
1st line cuts the all the 4 lines= 4 times
2nd line cuts the all the 4 lines= 4 times but 1 common with 1st one=4-1=3 times
so on 3rd line unique intersection=2
4rth =1 times & for 5th no unique intersection
so maximum no of intersection=4+3+2+1=10
diffrence=10-1=9

maximum no of intersection = 10
minimum no of intersection = 1(i.e. all the line starting from a point)
so, max-min = 10-1 = 9
