after 1st step milk = 5*5/6
after 2nd step milk = 5*5/6*5/6

Each time, 1/6 portion of milk is going out while removing one litre of mixture.
Means 5/6 poortion of milk left in bucket.

After 3 steps the portion of the milk left in bucket will be

5*(5/6)*(5/6)*(5/6) = 625/216 = 2.9 litre

In five liter milk one liter water is mixed and one liter is taken back from mixture three times so,

Initially milk is 5 liter and water is one liter
i.e. 5 / 6 and 1 / 6 portion in a liter respectively.

after taking one liter back first time remaining milk is 5 - 5 / 6 = 4.17

Second time 4.17 - 4.17 / 6 = 3.47

and at last 3.47 - 3.47 / 6 = 2.89.

So option 1) 2.9 is the answer...

First Time :
5ltr milk + 1ltr water total 6 liter
remove 1 ltr mixture
remaining(5-5/6=25/6 milk and 1-1/6=5/6 water)
Second Time :
add 1ltr water
so total water=5/6+1=11/6 water
remove 1ltr mixture
25/6-25/36=125/36 ltr milk and 55/36ltr water
third time :
add 1ltr water
so total water 91/36ltr water
remove 1ltr mixture
so milk left= 125/36-125/216=625/216=2.8935 ~ 2.9 ltr(approx)

THE FIRST ROUND MILK IN THE VESSEL = (5/6)*5 = 4.17;
REPEAT THE PROCEDURE AND SECOND ROUND IT IS 3.47;
THIRD ROUND IT IS 2.9 LITRE.
